In late 1960’s, the people of Pima County in Arizona approved the formation of a junior college district to be built, and the Pima Community College was soon established. In 1969, construction of the first campus began on 267 acres in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains located to the west of the city. Since then, the college has grown to 6 major campuses and 4 learning centers located all over greater Tucson. This includes several centers that deliver specific and special training programs.
Pima Community College currently offers two-year college courses that can be availed of from any one of the six campuses all over Pima County. PCC's credit courses award certificates and associate's degrees in several different fields. PCC also provides workforce development, career training programs, continuing education, and adult education as part of the educational programs. There are also several different courses and classes that PCC students can take advantage of once they are enrolled with the school.
